Broad Street Run Lottery is OPEN!
The Broad Street Run Lottery is open! The race opened for registration this morning. Good luck to all!
I did it. I signed up for my first Broad Street Run. Technically, that’s not true. I’ve signed up before. I just never ran it. I signed up for the 2020 Broad Street Run, and we all know what happened there. There was a virtual option, but I didn’t do it. That’s not what I signed up for. I wanted the people and the music and the signs, and all of it. Especially since I was running 10 miles for the first time ever… or hoping to.
Since then, I had a baby. Trudy is now 11 months old and (while it sounds so cliche) becoming her mom is truly the best thing I’ve ever done. BUT… I stopped exercising. Like, completely since she was born. That’s almost a year! I have no good excuse. I just haven’t done it. No real regrets, but I would definitely like to begin taking care of myself again.
So today, I took the first step. Well, not the first physical step. That will hopefully come soon, but I signed up to run this year’s Blue Cross Broad Street Run. The lottery opened today (February 1st) and closes on February 15th. Here’s hoping.
Helping with my motivation is the fact that this year my siblings have all committed to run too. There are 4 of us, and if this actually happens, it will be an incredibly fun 10 miles with my two younger sisters and my older brother. I can’t wait. Hopefully we all get in.

Runners will be notified the week of February 19, 2023. Those not selected for the lottery can still register for the virtual option until March 15, 2023.
