Went with a 70’s theme for this year’s BEN FM contribution to the Annual Philly Home and Garden Show Beasley stations competition. Trudy for scale.
A look back at this year's Philly Home and Garden Show. It's held every year at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, and the show never disappoints.
There were gorgeous gardens, presentations, and of course lots of booths and vendors with helpful products for sale. I never come home empty handed. A few years ago I purchased a great steam mop (shown in the photos) and the following year I bought the portable handheld steam cleaner to go with it. This year was my broom year (also shown in the photos). I arrived in need of zero brooms. I purchased four. Four. The salesman was good. I have to say, the brooms are pretty nice too.
Our featured radio contest for the show this year was a shed competition. Our shed theme was the 70's and we named it Shed Zeppelin. Another highlight this year was finding Girl Scout Cookies for sale. The troop was fundraising to send their Senior Girl Scouts abroad on a trip. I was (of course) happy to help by purchasing a few (dozen) boxes. Anything for the Girl Scouts, right?!
Main Line Rescue / PSPCA Doggie Fashion Show
This year I was especially excited to host the PSPCA and Main Line Rescue Doggie Fashion Show. The dogs really brought it with their fashion forward looks. They flaunted everything from tutus to Flyers jerseys in their collection. While I was on stage and didn't take any photos of the dogs from the show, the Main Line Rescue website can offer way more than that. There are so many adorable dogs available to adopt. Some of the 'models' were MAJOR, MILO, and EVE. Check the MLAR website for their photos, health information and everything you need to know about each individual dog's personality and forever family needs. Find all of their adoptable dog profiles HERE, and adoptable cats HERE. Then, stop by the beautiful Main Line Rescue Pheonixville location soon to meet your new best friend.
Oh, and save the date! The Main Line Rescue 122th Annual Tails & Trails 5K Run/2K Walk presented by Chewy is coming up on Saturday, June 3, 2023. We'll be there with BEN FM playing music and cheering on the runners, both hooman and canine.
Trudy's First Home Show
And of course, the biggest highlight for me was having Trudy at the show with me this year. She loved meeting all the dogs, and even had her caricature done. The finished product is in the photo gallery. She had lots of fun and met many friends.
We'll let you know the next Philly Home and Garden Show dates as soon as we have them! Looking forward to 2024 already.

We bought too much!

It happened again. The sales folks at the Philly Home Show are very good at their jobs, and I took home WAY to much. Poor Trudy was kicked out of the stroller for lack of space! If I'm honest, a LOT of those bags were filled with Girl Scout Cookies. Excited to try my new brooms though!

Anyone Have the Time?

They have everything at the Philly Home and Garden Show.
Welcome Cookie Surprise.

Bought an embarrassing amount of cookies from this troop of seniors who were fundraising for their trip overseas.
Kristen's New Brooms

The guy selling these was so good. He could have sold ice to an Eskimo. The demonstration was great too. I now have 4 new mops I didn't necessarily need.

Steam Mop - Kristen Approved!

If only I would use it more often. Even the Home Show can't help with that.
I swear by this steam mop. Bought it a few years ago at the Philly Home Show and went back the next year for all the attachments too. It's great. No chemicals needed! Just water.
Girl Scout Cookies!

Boy was I happy to see these folks. My usual Girl Scout Cookie hookup ran out this year. I was able to buy a bunch more from this troop of seniors who were fundraising for their trip overseas.
Carnival Foods Too!

Only the best food and drink offerings at the Philly Home and Garden Show. This was just one of the delicious stands, but do you really need any more than lemonade and funnel cakes?
Retro-Cade was VERY popular.

Pawfect PSPCA Pairing!

The Philly Home and Garden Show and the PSPCA have a pawfect partnership and team up each year to bring adoptable dogs to the show. They were SO cute too. Find them all at MLAR.org.
