Buy Your Tickets to the 2024 Booty Ball
You read that right. Booty Ball tickets are on sale now. It’s not as risque as it sounds. The Runway for a Cure & Booty Ball is a super fun event with a catchy name and a charitable cause. The night helps to raise money and awareness in hopes of one day finding a cure for colon cancer. It’s on a Saturday night too! Saturday, March 23rd at Live! Casino and Hotel in South Philadelphia.
According to the American Association for Cancer Research, “Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States, behind only lung cancer”. Of the estimated 153,020 people in the US who received a diagnosis of colon or rectal cancer last year, approximately 52,550 people died from it. That’s 52,550 people too many.
All of the funds raised at the Runway for a Cure & Booty Ball stay local. The money raised helps to remove barriers to screening for under and uninsured people, educate the public about early detection and screening, reduce financial burdens for patients, and fund research.
The event itself promises to be an amazing night too. Enjoy dinner, live music, a runway show and more. The runway portion is the highlight of the night, celebrating local colon cancer survivors and thrivers. Watch as these amazing folks strut their stuff in brand new wardrobes, all for fun and in such an incredibly supportive environment.
So, join us. Be a part of the solution to a problem that is affecting individuals and families in our region and all over the world. Even if you aren’t able to help monetarily, helping to raise awareness saves lives. In many cases, colorectal cancer is preventable through early screening. A colonoscopy can help to identify precancerous polyps for removal before they become cancerous. The procedure is also able to detect cancer in it’s earliest stages. Ask your doctor about scheduling a colonoscopy if you are age 50 or older, or younger if you have a family history. And tell your friends. Some people throw colonoscopy parties. Talk to the people you love and encourage them to get screened. Then, buy your tickets to the Runway for a Cure & Booty Ball 2024.
