NASCAR legend Robert Yates has passed away. He was 74 years old at the time of his passing.
Confirmation of his death came in the form of a tweet posted by his son, Doug Yates.

Yates, a Charlotte native, was undoubtedly one of the most known names in the racing community. He was also named as an inductee in the 2018 NASCAR Hall of Fame.
An article published in the Charlotte Observer reveals Yates was battling Liver Cancer.
After learning of Yates’ passing, Dale Earnhardt Jr. took to social media to remember the NASCAR legend.
