Shannen Doherty Reveals She Has Stage 4 Breast Cancer
This morning on Good Morning America, Shannen Doherty revealed that she has stage 4 breast cancer.
In the interview, Doherty said, “I don’t think that I’ve processed it. It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?’ And then I go, ‘Well, why not me? Who else besides me deserves this?’ None of us do.”
She revealed that she has been battling cancer for nearly a year but kept it private. She chose to reveal the news now because the information would have become public this week because of an ongoing lawsuit she is in with State Farm.
Her initial cancer diagnosis was in March of 2015. It’s been three years since she went into remission.
Whether intentional or not, her announcement coincides with World Cancer Day today.
