Rob Halford on Judas Priest’s Rock Hall Nomination
Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford isn’t playing coy with his feelings about the group’s nomination for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s class of 2018.
Though eligible since 1999 this is Priest’s first time on the Rock Hall ballot, and the Metal God tells us he couldn’t be happier:
“This is our Oscars, you know…If we do get in it will be the absolute dream come true moment in terms of the musical side of these types of events. So fingers, crossed, as they say…It’s gonna be an absolutely spectacular night should we be inaugurated. So get the votes, I say.”
Priest is one of nine first-time nominees and 19 overall on this year’s Rock Hall ballot. A public vote is being held at RockHall.com through December 5, and the inductees will be announced shortly after that for a ceremony taking place April 14 in Cleveland.
Priest, meanwhile, is putting the finishing touches on its next album and planning a tour Halford says should start around March.
