Pennsylvania Has One of the Best Budget-Friendly Vacation Spots

It’s vacation time, which is a good thing. But, if that makes you nervous because you’re thinking of all the money you might spend on vacation, read on. Pennsylvania has plenty of great places to travel on a dime. One Pennsylvania area has been named as one of the best budget-friendly vacation spots to visit.

Travel.thefuntimesguide.com has put together a list of some great areas to visit in the Keystone State. These are perfect for those watching their pennies. “The Keystone State is a large place with a wide range of parks, landmarks, cultural destinations, and other points of interest,” they write. It’s a good point. They add that one great thing about Pennsylvania is that a bunch of spots have free or cheap admission. “Since nothing is more than a scenic half-day drive away when you’re vacationing in Pennsylvania, you don’t need to buy an expensive plane ticket to get where you want to go,” Travel.thefuntimesguide.com adds.

Coming in at No. 1 is The Pocono Mountains, which “offers four seasons of endless fun and a tremendous variety of diversions, such as luxurious resorts, fun things to do for the whole family,” according to the official Pocono Mountains website. The Pocono Mountains feature forested peaks, lakes and valleys that are simply breathtaking. The area is about two hours and 15 minutes away from Philadelphia, so very doable for a road trip, if you live in Philly. “The outstanding natural vistas, the beautiful parks, scenic getaways, and the sense that the hustle and bustle of big-city life are hours away,” Travel.thefuntimesguide.com notes.
