Pennsylvania Hospital Named One of the Best Children’s Hospitals
When your child is sick, you definitely want the best children’s hospital available. As it turns out, one Pennsylvania hospital has been named among the best children’s hospitals in America.
The new study comes from US News and World Report. It’s their annual tally of the best children’s hospitals in America, this one for 2023-2024. “To create the pediatric rankings, we gather key clinical data from nearly 200 medical centers through a detailed survey that looks at measures such as patient safety, infection prevention and adequacy of nurse staffing,” they explain. “In addition, part of each hospital’s score is derived from surveys of more than 15,000 pediatric specialists who are asked where they would send the sickest children in their specialty. In 2023, only 89 children’s hospitals were ranked in at least one of the 10 pediatric specialties we evaluate.”
Best Hospitals For Pediatric Orthopedics: Pennsylvania Hospital is No. 1
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia ranked No. 1 on the list of the Best Children’s Hospitals for treating complex fractures, scoliosis, spina bifida and sports injuries in pediatric patients. No. 2 was Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and No. 3 was Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Best Hospitals For Pediatric Diabetes & Endocrinology: Pennsylvania Hospital Makes the Cut
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia ranked No. 3 on the list of the Best Children’s Hospitals for pediatric diabetes and endocrinology. Those hospitals help their patients manage type 1 diabetes, weight disorders and hypothyroidism. That’s a great showing. Coming in at No. 2 was Texas Children’s Hospital, and No. 1 was a tie between Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital.
