If you or someone you know is fresh out of school and looking to get their career started in a great city for young professionals, Pennsylvania has a good selection of cities to consider. After all, many college graduates wrap up their final classes in the summer, so plenty of new graduates are about to enter the corporate workforce for the first time.
The staff at Livability.com has put together a list of the five best cities for young professionals in Pennsylvania. They note that Pennsylvania is a choice place to start a career, to boot, because of a variety of key factors.
“Pennsylvania is an exciting place to launch or grow your career,” Livability.com states in the study. “The Keystone State is at the forefront of tech and start-up culture, and remote workers find their dollars stretch farther here, especially compared to other tech hot spots. Adding to Pennsylvania’s resume is a thriving arts and culture scene, affordable housing options and the proximity to major metros (hello, weekend trips!). Here’s a tour of the best cities for young professionals in Pennsylvania.”
By the way, according to a 2022 report by Bain & Company (via CNBC.com), the next generation of young professionals are stressed out and worried about money issues and how their careers will unfold. “Generation Z workers are those between the ages of 18 and 25, while millennials fall between the ages of 26 and 41,” the study states. “About 61% of respondents under the age of 35 were most concerned about finances, job security and failing to meet their career goals in the next 10 years, a survey by Bain found. Only 40% of those who were 35 and above shared the same concerns.” Knowing that makes it even more critical for young professionals to look to settle in a city that will meet their needs.
