Trying on Apple TV + stars Esther Smith and Rafe Small. The two British actors stopped by the BEN FM studio this week to help promote the release of Season 3 of Trying.
Trying is an absolute joy to watch. It’s funny and sweet, and while it’s about a heavier subject matter, it somehow feels light. The show centers around a couple who hope to become parents. After struggling with infertility, they turn to adoption. In order to navigate the difficult adoption process, they use humor and rely on one another and the strength of their relationship.
I’ve watched the show since Season 1 first came out in May of 2020 and I absolutely love it. Each episode leaves the happy, heartwarming feeling that Ted Lasso (also on Apple TV+) can leave the viewer feeling. The show is very bingeable too, with quick episodes that easily run into one another. You begin an episode and somehow you’ve watched five before you know it. Season 3 just premiered, and it’s super easy to catch up if you want to.
I was thrilled to have the chance to speak with Esther and Rafe when they stopped by. They were super nice and down to earth, and seem to genuinely like one another. No wonder they have such great chemistry on the show!
