New Philadelphia Farmers Market Finder Makes Finding Fresh Food Easy
Did you know there’s a site that lists all of the Philadelphia farmers’ markets, all in one place? Yep! It’s the Philadelphia Farmers Market Finder, and it’s fairly new too.
Spring is here, and while lots of us attempt our own gardens at home (emphasis on attempt in my case), we all can benefit from the occasional farmers market haul, especially living in the city. Where to find the best and closest farm stands? What are their hours? Enter the new Philadelphia Farmers Market Finder on the Phila.gov website. A new tool, is here to help.
The Philadelphia Department of Public Health regulates farmers’ markets in Philadelphia, working to make sure that food safety practices are in place. They’re also responsible for this cool new tool grouping all of the local spots for fresh food together, and helping us to find and list it all easily. The finder was launched last fall, but with spring 2024 in bloom and warm weather on the way, this is the first full season that we’ll truly get to enjoy and utilize the new site.
