Phillies Announce Fun-Filled Fan Events Before Game At Citizens Bank Park
Red October is here and the Phillies just announced fun-filled fan events before Game 1 of the NLCS at Citizens Bank Park.
Here’s the breakdown. At 10 a.m. on Monday, the New Era Phillies Team Store will open and stay open until 4:30 p.m. The store will have the official postseason gear, including the latest selection of NLCS merchandise. If you can’t head over to the stadium before it closes, the merchandise trailer will open at 4:30 p.m. You can still get your gear that way.
Then, at 5p the Phillies Postseason block party will start. You don’t need a ticket to the game to attend. It’s a two-and-a-half-hour fun-filled event for the fans. It features food trucks, face painting, giveaways, a Ferris wheel, bungee jumping, live music, and more. Then a pep rally starts at 7p.
It’s wild how the last time the Phillies won the World Series was in 2008. Obviously, we went back in 2009, but lost to the Yankees. Then we went back last year, and we lost to the Astros.
The 2008 World Series was the 104th edition of the World Series, it was a best-of-seven playoff between the National League champion Philadelphia Phillies and the American League champion Tampa Bay Rays; and the Phillies won (obviously), four games to one. The 2008 World Series is notable because it is the only World Series to involve a mid-game postponement and resumption (two days later). I remember watching it at the Irish Pub and they had to call the game because it was raining so bad.
So even if you can’t make it to the game, you can still head down to Citizens Bank Park and have enough fun with fellow Phillies fans. Not to mention the Phanatic will be there and nothing is better than a Phanatic hug.
