Make Your Own Bouquets at This Philadelphia Flower Farm
Over the weekend my mom and I went to a floral class where we learned the art of the hand tied bouquet right here in Philadelphia. Who knew there was a beautiful flower farm right in our backyard, because I sure didn’t. I stumbled upon Love ‘n Fresh Flowers when I was searching for a Mother’s Day gift for my mom. I always like to get her something we can do together because let’s be honest, what does anyone really need. My mom loves flowers so after a quick Google search I stumbled upon Jennie’s website and looked into all the workshops she offers.
Love ‘n Fresh Flowers offers workshops, private workshops, floral cohorts, wedding services, and fresh flower delivery to the Chestnut Hill and surrounding Northeast Philly neighborhoods.
Jennie’s workshops vary in type and for the art of the hand tied bouquet one my mom and I took we learned the European style spiral hand tied technique that makes wedding bouquets and arrangements look absolutely gorgeous.
The workshop started with a tour of the farm and green houses. Next Jennie went over all the different blooms we would be able to choose from for our bouquet. Jennie demoed making a bouquet and then it was time to get to work. Let me just add I am not a florist and I have never made a hand tied bouquet in my life, but I was very happy with how my bouquet turned out! (You can scroll down to check out some pictures) So, although learning something new may seem intimidating Jennie is a great teacher and is very hands on during these workshops.
