Free Wheel Locks for Cheltenham Kia and Hyundai Drivers
Free wheel locks are being distributed to Kia and Hyundai owners, who probably need it. It’s all over the news nationwide. Kia and Hyundai vehicles are being stolen, and easily. There’s a tiktok trend that shows people how to steal Hyundai and Kia vehicles using just a USB cable. And they’re doing it a lot.
In order to prevent these thefts from happening, Kia and Hyundai dealers are sending police wheel locks to distribute to drivers.
The Cheltenham Township Police Department has received a number of these locks already, with more on the way. The locks are free, but residents must show ID, proof of Cheltenham Township residency, and proof that they drive a Kia or Hyundai vehicle in order to receive their free locks. So far, the Cheltenham Township Police Department distributed the free wheel locks for Hyundai vehicles only. Those locks have been handed out, but more are expected.
The Kia wheel locks should arrive mid February. Keep an eye on the Cheltenham Township Police Department’s social media accounts for when the Kia locks arrive. Locks can be picked up in person at the Police Administration Building at 8230 Old York Road. Find out more and updated information HERE.
For now, Cheltenham Township is the first in our area to receive the free locks. Again though, it’s a nationwide problem. You can contact your local Kia or Hyundai Dealership for more information, and maybe invest in a club in the meantime. Remember those?
