BB&T Pavilion to Change Its Name
The Camden waterfront concert venue has officially changed it’s name from the BB&T Pavilion to the Waterfront Music Pavilion.
This is the fourth name change in its 27-year history. The last change occurred in August 2015 when the North Carolina-based BB&T Corporation bought the Susquehanna Bank Center for $2.5 billion.
The concert venue opened in 1995 as the Blockbuster Sony Music Entertainment Centre according to the Philadelphia Business Journal. It was renamed the Tweeter Center when the naming rights was bought in 2001. The Susquehanna Bank then bought the naming rights in 2007 after Tweeter filed for bankruptcy.
The Waterfront Music Pavilion seats 7,000 but holds up to 25,000.
