The borough of West Chester’s first-ever Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester kicks off this weekend. Thousands of lights will glow as holiday shoppers stroll through West Chester during Shop Small Business Weekend. Look for great deals at the one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants all weekend long.
“West Chester truly is a real-life Dickens village all year long, and it’s about to get even more magical,” says Katie Walker, President of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, the organizer of Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester. “We know that shipping delays are a concern once again this year. This is a chance to shop local in an unforgettable setting that’s full of holiday fun and joy.”
The festivities kick off on Shop Small Business Weekend, November 26-28. Check out block after block of holiday lights and gorgeous holiday window displays, plus free street-level parking. On Black Friday, the Professional Gingerbread House Competition celebrates the holidays featuring local artisanal bakers. Gingerbread displays can be found at the following locations:
- Cakes and Candies by Maryellen– on display at Sunset Hill Jewelers & Fine Arts Gallery
- John Serock Catering– on display at Bryn Mawr Running Company West Chester
- Master’s Baker– on display at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant
- Yori’s Bakery– on display at Yori’s Bakery
- Carlino’s Specialty Foods– on display at Carlino’s in West Chester
West Chester’s Merrie Minstrel Carolers will be singing from 11:30a.m. – 1:30p.m. and 4:30p.m. – 6:30p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, enjoy free hot chocolate and coffee at Visual Expansion Gallery located at 132 North High Street from 1p.m.-3p.m. Then, take the kids to see Santa as he tours through town starting at 3p.m. Finally, on Sunday the Chester County Courthouse will hold a Menorah Lighting at 4:30p.m.
