Presented by the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester is a month-long celebration featuring dozens of immersive experiences to delight visitors from throughout the region as they enjoy West Chester’s businesses, culture and people.

  • Weekend of Friday, November 26 – Sunday, November 28

    Historic West Chester transforms into a magical wonderland, under the glow of thousands of twinkling lights, as your family enjoys festivities every weekend throughout the holiday season! Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester kicks off with free parking all weekend as the lights turn on for the first time during Shop Small Business Weekend. Discover the one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants that make West Chester such a vibrant community!

    • FREE PARKING, roaming carolers, free hot chocolate and coffee, and professional gingerbread houses at select locations.
    • at 2 p.m. – Making Spirits Bright Holiday Music Series outside the Historic Chester County Courthouse (2 N. High St.)
    • at 3 p.m. – Wave to Santa as he tours the borough on a fire truck!
    • Evening – Menorah Lighting at the Historic Chester County Courthouse

  • Weekend of Friday, December 3 – Sunday, December 5

    Stroll through thousands of twinkling lights as Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester continues with an Old-Fashioned Holiday Weekend! West Chester is decked out for the borough’s beloved Tree Lighting Ceremony, followed by a gingerbread house competition, fabulous holiday bazaar, breakfast with Santa and more!

    • Roaming carolers, free hot chocolate and coffee, and professional gingerbread houses at select locations.
    • Evening – Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Historic Chester County Courthouse (2 N. High St.) including live music. Keep an eye out for the big guy in a red suit, as well as iconic images from holidays past projected on borough buildings.
    • Morning – Breakfast with Santa at the History Center ($15, advance tickets required at https://westchesterpa.myrec.com/)
    • Afternoon – Holiday Bazaar at the History Center, free Making Spirits Bright Holiday Music Series at 2 p.m. outside the Historic Chester County Courthouse (2 N. High St.) & wave to Santa as he tours the borough on a fire truck at 3 p.m.!
    • Evening – Free photos with Santa at Marshall Square Park gazebo (200 E. Marshall St.). Leashed pets welcome. More info at https://www.west-chester.com/

  • Weekend of Friday, December 10 – Sunday, December 12

    Historic West Chester glows with thousands of twinkling lights as you enjoy unforgettable shopping, dining and holiday entertainment during Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester. During this special First Responders and Health Care Heroes Weekend and throughout the season, 100% of QR code donations will be donated to local fire departments, police departments, EMS and health care workers.

    • Enjoy roaming carolers, free hot chocolate and coffee, and professional gingerbread houses at select locations.
    • Evening – Holidays Around the World. Explore how different cultures celebrate the holidays. Light refreshments provided at Oscar Lasko YMCA (1 E. Chestnut St.). Registration is required for 3 available time slots:
    • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Touch a Truck. Meet the firefighters, get hands-on with a firetruck, and sign a thank-you banner to let these local heroes know how much we appreciate their service!
    • at 2 p.m. – Making Spirits Bright Holiday Music Series outside the Historic Chester County Courthouse (2 N. High St.)
    • at 3 p.m. – Wave to Santa as he tours the borough on a fire truck!

  • Weekend of Friday, December 17 – Sunday, December 19

    ‘Twas the Weekend Before Christmas, and all through the borough, West Chester’s elves make your winter fun thorough! Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester has activities for the whole family to make your spirits bright.

    • Roaming carolers, free hot chocolate and coffee, and professional gingerbread houses at select locations.
    • Evening – Devote yourself to last-minute shopping (and celebrating!) at our one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants.
    • 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Parents Night Out: Drop the kids off at Oscar Lasko YMCA (1 E. Chestnut St.), where they’ll play while you get some holiday shopping done. Open to children ages 4-12. Registration required and there is a fee. Register at https://bit.ly/3FDxNIq.
    • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Gingerbread cookie decorating and more family fun at Oscar Lasko YMCA (1 E. Chestnut St.). Registration required at https://www.ymcagbw.org/locations/oscar-lasko-branch
    • at 2 p.m. – Making Spirits Bright Holiday Music Series outside the Historic Chester County Courthouse (2 N. High St.)

  • Weekend of Friday, December 31, 2021 – Saturday, January 1

    Celebrate New Year’s Weekend with your final chance to enjoy the thousands of twinkling lights that have transformed West Chester this holiday season! Chester County Hospital Lights Up Holiday Weekends in West Chester concludes with your final “glowing” stroll with family, friends and neighbors through the borough’s historic streets, all while visiting the shops and restaurants that give the borough its unique charm.
