Turn Your Favorite Shoes Into Delicious “Shoe-Shi”
For some people, sneakers can be an obsession. Upgrade your kicks by tasting a sushi version of your shoes. Sushi chef and artist, Yujia Hu has been making waves on Instagram for his inventive sushi creations.
Hu has been able to transform everyday sushi into works of art. Creators note that he uses “black seaweed nori and smooth slips of pink fish to give each –rice base shoe-shi its designer features.”
The artist mainly creates well-known sneakers and has so far recreated everything from Air Jordans to Vans Old Skools. He has also made his own shoe-shi rendition of Adidas NMDs, Nike Slides, Adidas Dame 3s and Dame 3s. If you scroll down to his earlier works, there are also a few designer brand heels for the ladies! For those folks out there who are shoe fanatics, you may want to follow his ever-growing page.

Recently, the sushi king has jumped from kicks and started to create people as well as other accessories. The artist has made his own sushi version of Frida Kahlo to Lebron James. Each design has intricate seaweed details that make them almost too good-looking to eat. For those who are wondering, yes Hu did add in Frida’s infamous unibrow!
He has also delved into the word of making jackets and even covers of magazines! Every item Hu creates is beautifully designed but still manages to look extremely delicious.
Our only question is what happens to the shoe-shi and other creations after he is completed the project? Just saying, we would be willing to eat a Gucci purse or slides shoe-shi if we were invited over for dinner! It’s probably the closest we’d ever get to owning a piece of the designer brand.
