It’s time to “get the job done” in 2024! Here are some productivity tips to help you start 2024 off the right way.

The holidays are a hard time to find motivation to do, well, anything. You may have slacked off at the end of last year. We get it, we did, too. This may have prompted you to make a special resolution for the new year.

It’s time to get productive in 2024! It’s the year of being a boss and getting stuff done. But getting back from holiday vacations may leave you in a rut. So we have some tips to help you get in gear to work better this year.

It’s important to work in a way that works for you. It would be best if you did whatever makes you feel most productive. Don’t force yourself into a certain productivity box. That is counterintuitive. It actually decreases your ability to get work done. These tips are meant to make work more comfortable and entertaining if you feel your mind wandering to your next vacation.

Do this new year right and start it by putting in the work. Let these tips help you “get the job done.”

Here are 6 productivity tips to help you work in 2024:

  • “Study/Work With Me” YouTube Livestream

This strategy takes advantage of a psychological tool called “body-doubling.” It actually has been proven to help those with ADHD stay focused on the task at hand. It is a method in which you get your studying or work done in the same room as someone, maybe doing the same thing. The other person being there, quietly getting something done as well, helps you stay focused and get things done.

Now, you can’t always have a physical person there with you, so these YouTube videos exist. You can look up “work with me” in the search bar and find a video that works for you. Some people even live stream themselves studying, so it really feels like they’re there with you!

  • Try a New Type of Desk

If sitting doesn’t work for you, try a standing desk. There are tons of innovative desk varieties out there on the market today. There are floor desks if that works for you. There are desk chairs you can buy that allow you to sit crisscross-applesauce. Whatever position you feel more productive in, there’s a desk for it.

  • Create To-Do Lists

This sounds like a no-brainer, but a lot of people rarely follow through with this. Planners and to-do lists are invaluable resources for staying productive. It helps to be able to physically cross something off a list or X out a day in a planner.

Writing things down also helps you remember them better and puts you in a better position for your work flow.

  • Keep Yourself Moving

Remember how I said there are desks for everyone? You can get workout desks now. These treadmill or bike desks are helpful for those who like to keep their bodies in motion.

An alternative to that would be a walk at lunchtime. Fresh air, or getting your body moving, helps to re-center you and help you stay rejuvenated for the rest of the day.

  • Try Noise-Canceling Headphones

Noisy coworkers? Kids interrupting your “me-time”? Noise cancelling headphones will help you block out the noise and focus on the task at hand. You can play music through them, or white noise, or no sound at all! Whatever helps you be most productive.

  • Create Routines

If you want to start doing something, incorporate it into your routine. Make it second-nature for yourself. Routines are good to help activities or strategies come automatically to you.
