Monster Mash Bloody Mary Challenge Returns to Northern Liberties

Bloody Mary lovers don’t miss your chance to do the mash, the bloody mary mash. The Monster Mash Bloody Mary Challenge is back in Northern Liberties and each restaurant is bringing their own twist on the cocktail.

Monster Mash: Northern Liberties Bloody Mary Challenge is set for the weekends of Saturday and Sunday October 15th & 16th and Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd and 23rd 2022. This unique event solidifies Northern Liberties’ place as the best Philly neighborhood for tomato-based cocktails. Make a brunch reservation and get ready to vote for the winner. Don’t forget to order delicious food with your drink, and come back another day for night time dinner.

Each eatery will feature one themed Bloody Mary as they compete head-to-head in this fun and light-hearted neighborhood spar.

Participating competitors will include the following, While there can be just one winner, the other restaurants will be wallowing. They are all doing the Monster Mash. Come and join them in the new Northern Liberties Monster Mash:

  • Anejo

    Eztli (Axtec for “bloody”) Mary –  Fresh tomato juice, lime juice, orange juice, pomegranate juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and horseradish with a pinch of salt

  • Bourbon & Branch

    “Trick or Treat” Bloody – Pick between (2) options “Trick” (spicy) or “Treat” (sweet and sour)

    Trick – “Ghost” Tequila (a ghost pepper infused blanco tequila), house bloody mix, ginger, lime juice, spicy rim, assortment of spicy garnishes

    Treat – Faber tequila, house bloody mix, sweet thai chili, lemon juice, chili-sugar rim, assortment of garnishes

  • Cantina Dos Segundos

    Sangre de Nagual – Inspired by the Aztec story of the Nahuales, a group of powerful sorcerers that drank human blood, stole and destroyed property, killed livestock, and spread disease, this smokey chipotle bloody mary, made with New Liberty Distilling Powderhorn vodka is vegan friendly!

    Birra Bloody Mary – A bloody Mary mix laced with Birria consomme and topped with a birria taco, picked jalapeños and carrots and a spicy tajin rim

    Pesto Bloody Mary – Faber vodka, tomato water, basil pesto, cherry pepper brine, caprese skewer & pizza garnish, balsamic drizzle

    Mary Jane’s Last Dance – Pickle infused Faber vodka, house made bloody mix, olive, tomato, pickle garnish

    Vitamin Sea Demon – Freshly made Bloody Mary mix made from roasted tomatillos, cucumber juice, Aloe Vera juice, jalapenos, El Yucateco hot sauce and lime juice laced with Faber Tequila and garnished with chamoy and tajin rim, banderilla, chicharrón, grilled sausage “Octopus”, sausage “finger,” Aloe “tentacle,” tajin-spiced lime wedge, cucumber slice and of course of piece of celery
