Bob Barker is known for his game show hosting duties but also he’s known for some great cameos.
We learned this past Saturday that legendary game show host Bob Barker passed away at the age of 99.
If you ever stayed home sick from school, you knew that The Price Is Right came out at 11:00 a.m. and you had to watch it.
He was, in my opinion, the greatest game show host of all time. His iconic silver hair, the skinny old-school microphone. His voice was soothing so when you were sick, you felt a little better listening to Bob explain the random PIR games.
Bob was an amazing 14 Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show host. He also won 4 more as executive producer of the The Price Is Right.
Before he started hosting The Price Is Right in 1972, he hosted Tturh or Consequences for 18 years. He then went on to host the The Price Is Right for 35 years!
He retired from hosting duties in 2007 but he has popped up in a few TV shows and films since. During his career, he would show up on a random movie or TV show as well and would absolutely steal the show!
Everyone knows Bob Barker as being a well-spoken, nice, and very put-together older gentleman. He was basically everyone’s “Television Grandpa.” So when he does a cameo in a television show movie and plays himself and isn’t that guy…hilarity ensues. We have seen him team up with Adam Sandler on a few occasions. He showed up playing the host of The Price Is Right on an episode of How I Met Your Mother, he even guest hosted WWE’s Monday Night Raw where he butted heads with a couple of WWE superstars.
Drew Carey is a fantastic host of The Price Is Right but there is a little piece missing since Bob Barker retired.
