18th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut this Saturday October 5th
The PAWS Mutt Strut is always one of the best events of the year. The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is hosting their 18th Annual Mutt Strut this Saturday, October 5th at the Navy Yard. Whether you have a pet or not, it’s a really fun family friendly event to benefit a wonderful cause.
PAWS works year round to make Philadelphia a no-kill city. They work tirelessly to make sure that every savable pet is guaranteed a home. They also work to keep pets in their homes with their families. They offer low-cost vet care and have saved countless lives. This event is the non-profit organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
The Masters of Ceremonies this Saturday are Sue Serio (Fox 29), Steve Morrison (WMMR), and Kristen Herrmann (BEN FM!). Kristen has judged the doggie Halloween costume contest every year and this year is no exception. The costumes are always so creative and fun, but you don’t need a costume or pet to enjoy this incredible event.
There will be vendors, raffles, an “Ask the Vet” and “Ask the Trainer” booth, a beer garden by Dock Street, food trucks, live music, an agility course, paw-print painting, an opportunity to meet adoptable dogs, and an optional 1.5 mile walk kicked off by the Mummers.
Registration for the 18th Annual PAWS Mutt Strut begins at 11am this Saturday with the walk kicking off at noon. The event ends at 3pm.
