Acting Health Secretary Alison Beam announced Thursday that Pennsylvania will lift its coronavirus mask mandate by June 28th. However, if at least 70% of the state’s adults get fully vaccinated, then the end of the mandate could come earlier.
Currently more than 70% of adults have received at least one dose and nearly 53% are fully vaccinated .
Pennsylvania will continue to follow CDC guidance on masking.
Beam said “Businesses, municipalities and school districts my continue requiring to wear a mask. Likewise, some folks may make the personal choice to continue wearing a mask. We ask that Pennsylvanians continue to be kind and respectful to each other as we continue to fight COVID-19 in our communities.”
