Instagram Is About To Copy TikTok’s Winning Formula
Instagram is trying to capitalize on all the drama surrounding TikTok by copying it’s winning formula. Per the New York Post, Instagram will now have Instagram Reels, which will allow users to make 15-second video clips to music.
The outlet adds that the new Instagram feature will also enable users’ videos to go viral on a ‘Top Reels’ feed in the apps Explore section. So far, this feature is available in France, Germany, Brazil, and India.
Instagram is no stranger to successfully copying other platforms, as their stories and face filters were clearly inspired by features that were already on Snapchat.
As reported, the US is looking at banning TikTok and other Chinese social media apps over security concerns. As Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, “I don’t want to get out in front of [President Trump], but it’s something we’re looking at. We are taking this very seriously.”
According to NBC, Facebook will launch Instagram Reels in the United States and more than 50 other countries in a few weeks.
