Carli Lloyd’s Awesome Super Bowl Ad
Remember when Carli Lloyd kicked that amazing 55 yard field goal at an Eagles training session at the Linc last August?
Then, there was talk about her ‘not ruling out the possibility’ of joining the NFL sometime in the future. For now, dominating soccer comes first.
This Sunday during the Superbowl, watch for her in a very cool new Secret Deodorant ad. It’s a minute long, and it will be shown during the official Super Bowl Pregame Show.
The company says that, “the intent is to kick-start a discussion about kicking inequality just ahead of kick-off. More than two-thirds of girls believe that society doesn’t encourage women to play sports so we are setting out to change this notion by spotlighting fierce female athletes – specifically two major women’s soccer players – in ‘The Secret Kicker,’ which is aimed at defying conventional expectations and championing equal opportunities for women.”
The ad is called The Secret Kicker and shows fans cheering on their team as the kicker attempts a field goal. The field goal is good – and the crowd goes crazy – just as the kicker and her teammate take of their helmets. Their long hair falls out, and fans realize that it’s Carli Lloyd and her USWNT teammate Crystal Dunn out on the field playing. The crowd cheers even louder. #KickInequality.
