AUDIO: New George Michael Song ‘This Is How (We Want You To Get High)’
George Michael has a new song featuring in the upcoming film Last Christmas called “This Is How (We Want You To Get High).”
Per Rolling Stone, the song plays over the film’s credits and was written and 2012 by Michael and James Jackman and later recorded in 2015.
The track appearing in Last Christmas is apropos considering the film is loosely based on the late singer’s music. The film is co-written by Emma Thompson who talked about getting Michale’s permission to write the film on a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“He was just the loveliest guy you can imagine,” said Thompson. “All of these themes in the movie, he was passionate about homelessness, he had this great social conscience, he was so lovely. I got really enthused and we started to write and then he had that tragic early death in 2016 on Christmas…I miss him so much and I wish he was here because I know he’d love it.”
Last Christmas stars Emilia Clarke and opens nationwide November 15.
