April 2023 is a landmark month in the history of David Bowie with 50th and 40th anniversaries for album releases.  In celebration of these anniversaries, buy yourself a little something from these David Bowie Items or maybe you find a great gift for the Bowie fan in your life.

April 13th, 1973 the album, Aladdin Sane was released. April 14th, 1983 the album, Let’s Dance was released.

Both of these Bowie albums have a pronounced Iggy Pop influence. Aladdin Sane had “Panic in Detroit” which was based off of Iggy’s memories of the 1967 Detroit riots. One of “The Jean Genie” characters was based off of Iggy Pop:

A small Jean Genie

Snuck off to the city

Strung out on lasers

And slash back blazers

Let’s Dance features “China Girl.” The song was originally written by David and Iggy. It was originally on Iggy’s 1977 album, The Idiot.  While it wasn’t a big hit for Iggy, Bowie’s version (with the help of MTV) became a Top 10 hit.

“Just you shut your mouth… she says, “Ssh.”

Actually, your jaw may drop when you see some of these fan items.  These items are all straight up pieces of David Bowie adoration. T-shirts, wall art, and home goods.  I even found a magnificent throwback to the movie, Labyrinth. Celebrate all things David Bowie and happy browsing. Put on your red shoes and shop til your blue.  Too much?
