With St. Patrick’s Day just about a week away we’re in the right area to celebrate. According to a study from WalletHub Philadelphia is the best city to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
To determine the best cities for celebrating, WalletHub compared 200 of the largest U.S. cities across 18 key metrics, ranging from Irish pubs and restaurants per capita to the lowest price for a three-star hotel on St. Patrick’s Day to the weather forecast.
Philly ranked 5th for most Irish pubs & restaurants per capita, was first for fewest DUI related fatalities per capita, and 3rd for St. Patrick’s Day traditions.
One of those traditions includes the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Philly that returns this Sunday (March 13). You can watch the parade Sunday at noon on the CW Philly, as well as, stream it on CBS Philly.
On St. Patrick’s Day there is a 174% increase in beer sales as compared to the rest of the year and $5.87 billion is spent collectively on St. Patrick’s Day this year.
