Stoney Creek Veterinary Hospital will host their second “K-9 Veterans Day” observance on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from noon-4p. The event will take place, rain or shine, at their hospital, 701 Kedron Avenue, Morton, PA 19070. K9 Veteran’s Day is recognized in the state of Pennsylvania on March 13th.
This event will honor service dogs from all organizations in the Philadelphia area. It is an opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to these dogs and handlers who selflessly serve humanity and make our country a better place.
At noon there will be a ceremony honoring local K9 heroes who have performed exceptionially in the line of duty. They will also memorialize three fallen K9 Veterans in the memorial garden. Following the ceremony, the Sheriff’s Department and Canine Partners for Life will each perform short demonstrations of their amazing dogs at work.
Vendors from local dog organizations are invited to join the festivities and will be set up outdoors for the public.
All service dogs and handlers will be invited into the veterinary hospital for pampering fit for your hard-working companion. All dogs can benefit from Therapeutic Laser Therapy using Companion Therapy Laser, nail trimming and special treats. They will also have Canine Massage, performed by Kathy McCarry, their Canine Massage Therapist.
