South Jersey Skin Care & Laser Center teams up with the Only Skin Deep Foundation for their 2nd Annual Abby’s Day. Abby is one of only 500,000 children who are born with a giant congenital melanocytic nevus. Children who have these nevi are at hish risk for developing malignant melanoma on their skin. Abby has also been diagnosed with a condition called neurocutaneous melanocytosis. This is a result of having pigment cells in the brain and the spinal cord whick may cause excessive fluid in the skull leading to brain swelling, unconsciousnessm, vomitting, reflex and eyesight issues and, in some cases, it may be fatal. Children with this condition are also at risk for developing malignant melanoma in their spinal cord and brain. Join them as they fight this battle for children with this condition.
