On this week’s episode, Kristen talks mushrooms with the organizers of the 31st Annual Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square, and Marilyn gets the scoop on this year’s Philadelphia Fringe Festival from the man who began it.
Mushroom Festival organizers and all-around FUN GUYS (well, fun ladies) Carla Lucas and Kathi Lafferty join Kristen in studio to give all of the details on the 31st Annual Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square, September 9-11th. Don’t miss out, as Kennett Square, the Mushroom Capitol of the World – hosts a weekend full of carnival games, cars, dining, dancing, cooking, eating, and all things MUSHROOM! Some highlights of the event include the National Fried Mushroom Eating Championship, the Mushroom Run and Fun Gus Walk, the Soup and Wine Event, Grower’s Exhibit and so much more. Find all of the details HERE.
Then Marilyn is joined in studio by Nick Stuccio, the President and Producing Director of the Philadelphia Fringe Arts Festival. FringeArts is a 17-day, city-wide celebration of innovation and creativity in contemporary performance from 9/9 through 9/24. Nick breaks it down for us and shares details on the curated performances, festival late night events and this year’s new component – Digital Fringe. FringeArts celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and to celebrate – St. Benjamin has created an exclusive FringeArts Beer that will be available all over town, including the beer garden at the FringeArts Building (Race and Columbus Blvd). Over 150 shows are a part of this year’s FringeArts Celebration, so it’s tough to cover them all, but check HERE for the festival details and enjoy!
