Sade: Listen To Her Moving New Song To Her Son
It’s been six years since Sade released a new song, and she’s just released a new song, “Young Lion,” dedicated to her son. Today, the Red Hot Organization released an EP called Transa: Selects, which serves as a preview of the upcoming collection, Transa. Transa intends to bring awareness and understanding to the public about the transgender community.
Sade’s “Young Lion” is a tender song dedicated to her son, Isaak Adu, who is transgender. She sings, “You must have felt so alone/The anguish and pain/I should have known… With such a heavy burden/You had to carry all on your own/Forgive me son/I should have known.” Listen to the song below.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Isaak said, “Though there was nothing I needed to forgive her for, the lyrics ‘Forgive me, son, I should have known,’ struck a chord. My mum never tried to oppress the boy; I silently always knew I was. She always let me be me.”

Her most recent album was 2010’s Soldier Of Love. In 2022, Billboard reported that the band was working at Brad Pitt’s Miraval Studios in France, but there have been precious few updates since then. Sade’s debut album, Diamond Life, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
The full Transa album will be out on November 22.
