Alice Cooper Talks What’s Next for Hollywood Vampires
Alice Cooper has been focused on his own career this year, including a new album, Paranormal, coming out Friday (July 28). But he’s also getting ready for the return of Hollywood Vampires, his ad hoc supergroup with Johnny Depp and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry that released an album and toured during 2016.
Cooper tells us that,
“Vampires will be going out in 2018. Johnny’s doing five movies this year so he can kind of like open up his schedule next year and go out and tour for awhile. Joe Perry’s finishing up Aerosmith, and I’m finishing up this tour in December so we will be heading out probably the beginning of 2018, I would say March or something like that.”
He adds that the group will likely have new music to play as well:
“We’ve got to do another album. We’ve got to write another album which is not gonna be covers this time. It’s all gonna be original stuff.”
The 2015 Hollywood Vampires album featured covers of classic rock songs and two originals, plus guest appearances by Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Slash, Joe Walsh, the Doors’ Robby Krieger and more.
Cooper is currently on tour in Europe and begins a North American trek with Deep Purple and Edgar Winter on August 12.
