Stat Recap of Dead and Co.’s North American Tour
Dead & Company is calling its 2017 North American tour a success after wrapping things up with shows June 30 and July 1 before a combined 80,000 fans at Chicago’s Wrigley field.
The group’s 20-date/15-city tour drew nearly 500,000, with 10 sell-outs and multiple stadium dates in Boston as well as Chicago. Meanwhile, $176,930 was raised for non-profit organizations that took part in Dead & Company’s Participation Row at each show, via auctions of signed D’Angelico guitars. More than 20,000 “actions” were taken by concert goers as well, including 4.075 voter registrations via HeadCount, more than 500 postcards to members of Congress calling for protection of national parks and more than 2,800 donations to REVERB.
Dead & Company has not announced its next move, but guitarist John Mayer begins his own tour on July 17 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and fellow guitarist Bob Weir has solo appearances on August 4 in Morrison, Colo., and at the Lockn’ Festival on August 25 in Arrington, Va.
