Southern Delaware Wine, Food, and Music Festival Scheduled for May 3 in Rehoboth Beach
The Southern Delaware Wine, Food, and Music Festival is returning to Sussex County this May. The ninth annual event will be held on Saturday, May 3, from noon until 3:30 p.m. at Schellville in Rehoboth Beach.
Festival attendees can look forward to sampling offerings from more than 20 restaurants and more than 100 selections of craft beers, cocktails, and wines. The festival will also feature a bourbon tasting, a silent auction, a wine wall, live entertainment, and a live “Chef Throwdown.”
Some of the participating restaurants featured in this event include:
- Atlantic Social
- Blackwall Hitch
- Kaisey’s Delights
- Seed
- Sirocco Food & Drink
- The Modern Graze
A pre-festival VIP wine dinner will be held on Friday, May 2, at 6 p.m. at Schellville in Rehoboth Beach. Chef Sean Corea, founder and executive chef at the Lewes Oyster House, will lead guests through an evening of fine dining and intimate conversation in an attractive outdoor setting. Each course of this multi-course experience will include a thoughtfully curated pairing of wines from Breakthru Beverage.
Hosted by Creative Coastal Connections Corp., the festival aims to raise funds for local nonprofits, including the Sussex County Habitat for Humanity and the Harry K. Foundation. Since its founding in 2015, the festival has raised more than $250,000 for local charities.
The event was originally scheduled for October 2024 but was postponed to May. “I am excited and thankful to once again present this award-winning festival for our community,” said Stacy LaMotta, the festival’s president and founder, in a news release shared with the Cape Gazette. “I appreciate everyone who contributed to making the festival possible and who supported the decision to postpone last year’s event. This year’s festival at Schellville will continue our tradition of being a premier event in the state, highlighting what our cherished Delaware coastal area has to offer.”
Tickets are available on the festival’s website.
