Cape May Music Conference Returns March 28-29 with 130+ Free Performances
The Singer-Songwriter of Cape May Music Conference is returning to the Jersey Shore after a five-year hiatus on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29. More than 100 indie and folk artists, experimental artists, and vocalists will offer performing artists an opportunity to participate in professional development, meeting, and networking inside Congress Hall’s Grand Ballroom and Harrison Conference Center.
The two-day conference schedule includes a host of speakers and topics, including the following:
- “Don’t Quit Your Day Job and/or the Art of the Side Hustle” with Peter DeMeo, Jennifer Hill, and Angela Perry
- “Marketing and Branding for Independent Acts and Artists” with Carter Fox of Carter Fox Consulting and David Avery of Powderfinger Productions
- “Harnessing AI for Music Creation: A Legal Perspective” with Dr. Michael E. Harrington of E. Michael Music
After the panels and workshops, musicians will perform at Congress Hall and 15 other venues across Cape May. The weekend will deliver 130 free live performances at 7 p.m. on both evenings. Each set will be 40 minutes. A full list of the performance venues and performers’ schedules is available on the conference’s website.
“It feels like Mardi Gras,” said Patrick Logue, director of employee and guest management for Cape Resorts, in an interview with New Jersey Monthly. “Everyone is in a great mood. If any performance isn’t your flavor, you can sit tight for the next act, or you can go somewhere else—all the venues are in walking distance of each other,” said Logue.
The event’s headliners include folk/indie rock singer-songwriter Laura Stevenson who has six studio albums to her name. Low Cut Connie’s Adam Weiner, a high-energy pianist and songwriter, bends the boundaries of rock-and-roll through his music.
Ticket information for performances is available on the conference’s website.
