The 2023 Women's Philadelphia Triathlon is almost sold out.
Ladies. Ever think of doing a triathlon? Wonder if you could? This is the one for you. A sprint triathlon, and all women.
The sprint triathlon is Sunday, July 9th and open to ages 12+. Wanna know the full name? The 6th Annual Stampone O’Brien Dilsheimer Law Women’s Philadelphia Triathlon & 5K Presented by Inspira Health. (We'll just call it the Women's Philadelphia Triathlon.)
I did it. Myself and three of my friends participated in the Women's Philadelphia Triathlon inaugural race. It was awesome.
Here are some of the reasons this race rules:
- The swim is in a pool. Not the Schuylkill. Not open water. Clean, clear, Kelly Pool in Fairmount Park. That alone makes this triathlon waaay more comfortable.
- It's all women. Philadelphia's ONLY all women's event. I found this race to be extremely friendly and supportive.
- It's short. As far as triathlons go, a sprint triathlon is a great attainable first race.
How long is each leg of the race?
- 300 meter swim in Kelly Pool.
- 9 Mile Bike on closed roads.
- 5K Run through West Fairmount Park.
There are also other options too like the Duathlon, Aquabike and 5K. Happening Saturday, July 8th and Sunday, July 9th, it's a weekend of events held in Fairmount Park. If you have kids who want to participate, there's a Saturday July 8th open to ages 5-14. Go for the tri though. You can do it.
SATURDAY EVENTS:
5K: 3.1 Mile Run
Kids' Splash & Dash: 50 Meter Swim and 1 Mile-ish Run
SUNDAY EVENTS:
Sprint Triathlon: 300 Meter Pool Swim + 9 Mile Bike + 5K Run (Relays available!)
Sprint Duathlon: 1 Mile Run + 9 Mile Bike + 5K Run (Relays available!)
Sprint Aquabike: 300 Meter Pool Swim + 9 Mile Bike = Done! (Relays available!)
