The Mütter Museum Wants Your Blood
The Mütter Museum is just about the coolest place I can think of for a blood drive. Especially during their Dracula exhibit. If Transylvania is too much of a commute, this is the next best thing.
The Mütter has a museum exhibit about how “folklore, embalming and funerary practices, and the misunderstanding of diseases like tuberculosis, led to post-mortem identifications of ordinary citizens as vampires in the 19th century.” Awesome, right? Yeah. The only thing that can make it better is donating your blood while you’re there. You can do that at their blood drive for the American Red Cross on January 7th.
Donating blood is a selfless, very cool act to begin with. This though, the coolest way I’ve ever heard of to donate blood. Not only that, blood donors earn free Museum admission for a future date. A total win-win.
Join the Mütter Museum and the vampires (not really) from the American Red Cross on Saturday, January 7th from 10am to 3pm.

The blood drive will be held in their Mitchell Hall at 19 S 22nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
Here’s some more information:
In 1787, The College of Physicians of Philadelphia was founded with the goal of lessening human misery. It continues to honor that mission today through efforts to improve the health of the public.
According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries.
As part of a year-long recognition of the 125th anniversary of Bram Stoker’s legendary horror tale, “Dracula” — a character and book that is often associated with blood — the blood drive seeks to raise awareness of the need for blood donation, as well as providing an opportunity for its supporters and visitors to donate.
