New Phillies Scoreboard 77% Larger
According to a Phillies press release, the new scoreboard will be big enough to show 516 life-size Phillie Phanatics. 152 feet wide, by 86 feet tall, a 77% increase. Every seat will be a great seat.
Not only that, the 4K capable, HDR video technology will really be able to catch a detailed foul ball catch, or kiss cam, or anything at all going on in the stands or out on the field. They’re building an up to date production room to support the new technology too.
So just how much does a sign like this weigh? About 116,298 pounds, held up by 190 tons of steel. They’ll put it up during the off season so that it will be functional by opening day, and ready to play back every home run of the 2023 season.
So when the Phanatic pulls you up to dance on the dugout next season, just know that EVERYONE (and I mean everyone) will have a crystal clear view of each and every one of your moves.
