Marilyn is joined by Mike Harris, Executive Director of the South Street Headhouse District. he gives you all the details on the fourth annual South Street Spring Festival happening Saturday, May 7th from 11a-8p. The Free, all-ages festival will span a total of 12-plus city blocks – three more than last year – that will be lined with 125 vendors, 35 participating restaurants that serve up a non-stop flow of delicious food with more than 150 notable chefs, 40 bands, 3 stages, 7 performance areas, and a ton of family-friendly fun. The festivities will run along South Street, beginning at Front Street and concluding at 8th Street, and will also branch off from 2nd and South streets heading west up to Pine Street. Finally, Dr. Frederick Bertley returns to BEN Around Philly this year to once again chat with us about the Philadelphia Science Festival’s HUGE (and FREE) outdoor Science Carnival, put on by the Franklin Institute and many others. Dr. Bertley is the Senior Vice President of Science and Education at the Franklin Institute and he gives us the scoop on the 160+ activities and demonstrations featured at this year’s carnival – Saturday, April 30th in Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing.
