This amazing site sits right where researchers found the fossils of the first known tyrannosaur, Dryptosaurus, back in 1866. Researchers have been digging here since the 1800s. Finding that tyrannosaur made this place a key spot in science history.
Building began three years ago. Now, the place is alive with real animals and fun activities for everyone who visits. Budding fossil hunters can dig up ancient remains, see scientists doing their work, and check out cool virtual reality displays. Giant life-sized dinosaurs look on while kids follow an exciting scavenger hunt or play in specially designed activity zones.
After 15 years of hard work, Dr. Kenneth J. Lacovara now runs the facility as its first executive director. Dr. Lacovara says tickets will cost less than other Philadelphia attractions.
