John Cena Breaks Record For Most Make-A-Wish Wishes Granted

WWE icon John Cena has recently broken a record for doing something good for those dealing with critical illnesses. The Peacemaker star now holds the world record for the most wishes granted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Guinness World Records announced last week.

The foundation is a non-profit organization that helps fulfill the wishes of children between the ages of 2 and 18 who have been diagnosed with a critical illness. The children can choose to meet a celebrity, go to an event or even give a gift to someone else.

As for Cena himself, he is the most requested celebrity -- nobody else has ever granted more than 200 wishes in the 42-year existence of Make-A-Wish. The former wrestler has fulfilled 650 wishes. Per USA Today, Cena said of his involvement,"If you ever need me for this ever, I don’t care what I’m doing, I will drop what I’m doing and be involved because I think that’s the coolest thing. I just drop everything," Cena said when he was honored for granting 500 wishes. "If I can offer a fantastic experience, I’ll be first in line to do my part."

Before his acting career began, Cena started working in professional wrestling in 1999 and has since gone on to become one of the most popular athletes of all time; he is a 16-time world champion in WWE. He was often portrayed as a crowd favorite character and as such has been the face for WWE’s "Be a Star" anti-bullying campaign. He then moved to Make-A-Wish when he granted his first wish in 2002. Ten years later, Cena granted Make-A-Wish’s 1000th wish to a fan named Cardon.

"The Immortal" Hulk Hogan celebrates his birthday today (August 11.) If there's one thing fans the world over can agree on, it's this: Hogan had one of the best wrestling themes of all time.

Of course, the Hulkster wasn't the only wrestler with a great theme.  In honor of his birthday, here are eight of the best wrestling themes of the 1980s.

Performed and co-written by Rick Derringer, he told Rolling Stone, "It's become one of the biggest records I've ever made…and I'm the guy who did "Hang On Sloopy" and "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo." (Well...he's not wrong.)

Derringer strikes again! His work with the WWF also included this hard rock tag team theme classic.

The synth guitar is so menacing, Roberts' theme didn't need lyrics.

Savage's use of "Pomp & Circumstance" is so iconic that high school graduates call it the "Macho Man March" instead of the "The Graduation March."  (Okay...they don't, BUT THEY SHOULD!)

The only thing more perfect than the late Curt Hennig is this theme.

Oh, Hot Rod...you're just so incredibly missed.

The "Money" hook. That laugh. You can't put a price on the brilliance of this theme.

Last, but certainly not least:  No "best '80s wrestling theme" list would be complete without "Badstreet U.S.A."  The Freebirds were the first wrestlers to have original entrance music, so without them and the vocal stylings of Michael "P.S." Hayes, this entire list wouldn't be possible.
