Hoda Kotb Breaks Down During ‘The Today Show’ Over Coronavirus Concerns
Anyone who regularly watches The Today Show can always count on Hoda Kotb being upbeat and happy, so watching her on this morning’s episode was quite heartbreaking.
The host was speaking with Drew Brees about New Orleans and how coronavirus has affected the city. Drew Brees announced that he was donating $5 million to help feed Louisiana residents during the pandemic, and as she wrapped up her interview, Hoda broke down crying. Since she was shaken up and unable to speak, Savannah Guthrie stepped in to help finish up the segment.
We love you, Hoda. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/rocZr8J4EE

The emotional moment was touching to fans all over the world who can relate to hurt and fear that Hoda showed in that moment.
May sound weird, but Hoda Kotb crying on the @TODAYshow after interviewing Drew Brees was what I needed this morning. She kept apologizing. She didn’t need to. We’re all in this, and it’s hurting us all.

Too often in our society we are taught that we have to keep it all together and never show any real emotion. Thank you @hodakotb for showing us that it is ok to cry especially in times like these. ❤️pic.twitter.com/6zeKRNUYWS
