Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts will likely be getting a huge payday soon.

The kind of money the Eagles are willing to pay Hurts just went up, following the New York Giants agreeing to a four-year, $160 million deal with Daniel Jones to keep him with the team. That deal includes $35 million in incentives, too.

Now, NFL fans and critics are looking at new contracts for other star quarterbacks, including Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert of the Chargers, Joe Burrow of the Bengals and Hurts.

What sets Hurts above the rest

Hurts has become the heart and soul of the Eagles. He's a Pro Bowl quarterback, All-Pro and 2022 MVP runner up. Hurts is an elite quarterback, and the Eagles will likely be willing to pay a pretty penny to hook him for another several years.

How much will Hurts get?

So, how much will Hurts get? The crew at Bleacher Report is projecting that "based on Jones' new contract, it should be expected that this year's group of eligible quarterbacks," which includes Hurts, "will receive extensions in the range of $42-$50 million per year." For Hurts, expect it more towards the higher mark.
