Niche used The acceptance rates and SAT/ACT test score data from the U.S. Department of Education to determine the rankings. A large percentage (80%) of the ranking was based on acceptance rate.
It doesn't really come as a shock that the eight ivy league institutions made the cut as these are often viewed as the most prestigious of universities.
