Hosting a party can be a fun and rewarding experience, but it does require some planning and preparation to ensure that everything runs smoothly. From setting a date and time and hashing out a guest list to planning the menu and decorating a space.

It's quite common for guests to ask if they can bring something to an event. This could be for a variety of reasons, like wanting to contribute to the event, showing appreciation for the host, or ensuring that there will be something they can eat or drink that fits their dietary restrictions.

You may want to take them up on it if they ask what you need. But it's best to avoid requesting certain items from them, such as tableware, reimbursement, or last-minute items that you may have forgotten to pick up. According to Lisa Mirza Grotts, an etiquette expert said, "When a host begins offloading their responsibility to their guests, it becomes burdensome." Guests who ask to bring things to parties often try to be helpful and positively contribute to the event.

When guests ask, "What can I bring?" it may be difficult for some people to answer. Youy want to be mindful of cultural or family traditions, limited space, or a specific menu for a party or event. It can be tough to tell guests what to bring because hosts might have specific things in mind or some limits on what they can take.

However, there are plenty of things to tell a guest to bring when they ask the question "What can I bring?" Here's what you should ask guests to bring to a party if they ask.

A Game

Your guest may want to keep the party going. They can bring a game which is a fun way to get everyone involved. It's a great way to break the ice, get people playing together, and make sure everyone's having a good time.

It's pretty common for guests to bring alcohol to a party as a way to say thanks to the host and add to the festivities. Some guests may prefer a specific type of alcohol or brand and want to ensure that it's available at the party.

In some cases, guests may want to provide a healthier food option that can balance out other party foods that may be higher in calories or less healthy.

A great suggestion for a guest would be some festive touches. This could be decorations that fit the party theme, small party favors, photo booth props, or even a contribution to the music playlist.

As a host, you may have planned out the party in detail and prefer to handle all aspects of the event, including the food, drinks, games, and decorations. You can just tell your guest to simply enjoy themselves and help to create a fun atmosphere.
