Nick Castellanos Phillies Walk Off

It’s safe to say that Nick Castellanos as struggled the first half of this season, just not able to really find his rhythm. That happens, baseball is hard! But on Tuesday, June 18th, he totaled up four hits including a game-winning double to right field.

Let’s set the stage. Kyle Schwarber back in the eighth inning hits a solo shot to put the Philadelphia Phillies within one run. Heading into the ninth inning, Bryce Harper will lead off, followed up by Alec Bohm (one of the best players in the National League) and then Bryson Stott. Safe to say, we have some real winners coming to the plate in the bottom of the ninth.

Harper? Single. Bohm? Single. Harper hustles to make it to third. Stott? Single. Harper scores and now we are all tied up at three. Coming to the plate is Nick Castellanos. Despite his recent struggles, he has already put together a three hit game and now he has a chance to win it for the Phillies.

You can’t even begin to understand that effort these guys are putting in day in and day out. So amazing. They came back, at home, from down two runs entering the bottom of the eighth inning, scoring three runs to win the game 4-3. Beating the San Diego Padres in Philly is important, have to win these important home games without a doubt.
