Huntington’s disease is an inherited, progressively degenerative brain disorder that results in a loss of both mental faculties and physical control. It is estimated that 1 in every 10,000 people in the United States have HD, with hundreds of thousands more people at risk of inheriting the disease. You can learn more at HDSA.org.
The 2009 Team Hope Walk for HD is the marquee event in the region that is designed to not only raise money, but also raise awareness to fight this devastating disease. The walk will go through the MCCC campus with raffles and prizes to be given away prior to the start of the family picnic.
People interested in joining the Team Hope Walk for HD should contact either Greg Wiley at 877-WALK4HD x16 or [email protected] or HDSA Delaware Valley Executive Director Susan Liberace at 610-260-0420 or [email protected]. Donations can be made online at www.hdsa.org/teamhope
