At the Saturday performance, adoptable dogs will be on hand courtesy of Mostly Muttz. The dog visitation begins at 2 p.m. with the show following at 3 p.m.
“The Perfect Dog” was adapted from the book of the same name by John O’Hurley, the author and television personality who hosts the Philadelphia-based National Dog Show Presented by Purina Thanksgiving Day special on NBC. The two-day run of “The Perfect Dog” was licensed by Theatrical Rights Worldwide as part of its Theatre for Young Audiences catalogue.
In the play, Sam, a 12 year-old perfectionist, must resort to training Max, the not-so-obedient family dog, for the “Town Dog Contest.” In the end, Sam and Max learn that there is no such thing as perfect, but there is such a thing as perfect for each other.
The Perfect Dog cast will also perform at the National Dog Show Gala alongside John O’Hurley Friday, Nov. 18 at the Valley Forge Casino Resort.
