Event summary:
With African Americans having the highest breast cancer death rate among all other groups, the event empowers women to take the steps that can save their lives today, and establish healthy practices to increase the power future generations have over the disease. Expert panels will offer breast health education to survivors and women never diagnosed. Topics include: Nutrition, Stress Management & Exercise Working Together for Breast Health; Moving Breast Cancer Research & Clinical Trials Forward; Understanding Triple Negative & Metastatic Breast Cancers; the Latest in Plastic Surgery Options; The Importance of Knowing Family History for Cancer Risk. Also included are: Keynote address by Phoebe A. Haddon, Chancellor of Rutgers University-Camden, inspirational entertainment, complimentary breakfast, peer interaction and free mammogram signups for eligible women.
